OPEN SPACE TAX REMINDER:
The Open Space Tax is in addition to the ½ of 1% Earned Income Tax that the Township currently shares with the Pennridge School District.
If you are a self-employed resident of the Township, the quarterly estimated forms (Form DQ-1) you receive from Berkheimer Associates for 2001 will reflect the increased tax rate. You should adjust the amount of estimated tax you remit to Berkheimer Associates accordingly.
For residents of Hilltown Township employed outside the Township, your employer could begin to withhold the increased tax rate effective April 2, 2001. However, your employer is not required to withhold the Open Space Tax from your wages. If your employer does not or will not withhold the additional .25% from your wages, you will be required to pay the tax directly to Berkheimer Associates.
