The following is an update regarding concerns raised by certain residents as to community impacts which seemingly result from the development of the above-referenced property.
At the Board of Supervisors public meeting held on June 22, 2026, two (2) representatives of Waste Management appeared to discuss efforts to address resident complaints about noise, lighting, landscape buffering and the like.
Waste Management reports that sound testing of the site has been undertaken and that recorded decibel levels are within Township ordinance limitations. In addition, the Hilltown Township Police Department has visited the site on several occasions, but each time the police were at the property, none of the noise generating equipment was operating. With respect to vehicle noise, Waste Management is willing to investigate whether regulations will allow it to equip its trucks with muffling devices to reduce the noise from the backup beepers.
As to lighting, Waste Management will be testing lighting levels once the landscape installation is complete. Installation of landscaping typically takes place later in the development process. Work on the landscaping is anticipated to begin within the next few weeks. Waste Management will provide the Township with the results of the lighting tests once completed.
Finally, Waste Management has agreed to attend a future Township meeting to discuss all of the test results and any other persisting concerns.
