Chal-Brit Regional EMS
Over the past six months, Hilltown Township (the “Township” or “Hilltown”) has worked with Chal-Brit Regional EMS (“Chal-Brit), surrounding serviced municipalities, Bucks County Emergency Health Services, and other regional emergency medical service providers to evaluate how best to ensure reliable, high-quality, and fiscally responsible emergency medical services (“EMS”) for our residents following Chal-Brit’s request for additional financial assistance in early 2026.
Recognizing the growing financial challenges facing EMS agencies throughout Pennsylvania, Hilltown’s Board of Supervisors previously doubled the Township’s 2026 EMS budget for all EMS providers serving Hilltown residents. During 2026, the Township also advanced approximately $38,000 of Chal-Brit’s annual allocation to assist with a scheduled equipment payment and funded an independent accounting firm, selected by Chal-Brit, to assist with its accounting system transition and to provide more reliable financial information to the community for evaluation.
The Board of Supervisors will review the financial information being developed by Chal-Brit's independent accountants, as well as the capabilities and long-term sustainability of EMS providers serving our region, when that information is available. No additional emergency funding is currently under consideration. Any future decisions regarding EMS funding or service arrangements will be made by the Board of Supervisors through the Township's public meeting process.
The Township appreciates the work and response from all four of the EMS providers serving the Township. The Township remains committed to ensuring Hilltown residents continue to receive dependable, high-quality emergency medical services. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Township office at 215-345-6000.
